Evangelical Lutheran Parish of St. Gertrude

Mission/Ministry:

The Evangelical Lutheran Parish of St. Gertrude is a young congregation though it was established at one and the same time with Ekaterinburg in 1723. After tough communist era it was reestablished in 1989 by people with Lutheran background who kept their faith through horrible years of communist repressions. We carefully keep the memory of people who suffered for their faith. Now we are fast developing Church with the emphasis on the mission activity because we believe that only by mission work the Gospel is spread among nations. We, like first disciples of Jesus Christ, go to the peoples who is in need and starving for the Word of God, whose burden of sins prevents them to see the Loving God, their Redeemer and Savior. The average age of members of our Congregation is around 40 and more than a half of them are young people under 25.
